New England Melange

 A pesar de que el trabajo en Kroka y la puesta en marcha del Ecuador Semester se llevan la gran mayoría del tiempo en estas tierras, nos damos el tiempo de saludar a rios, lagos, senderos, montañas y  amigos de los alrededores. Lugares  y personas que después de tantos años de visitar esta esquina del continente guardan vivencias acumuladas, pero aun esconden mucho terreno por explorar. Esta es una recolección de imagenes que resumen un verano cargado de aventuras diversas.

Even though the work at Kroka Expeditions and the Ecuador Semester fill up most of our time here, we've also had time to visit and re-connect with lakes, rivers, trails, woods and friends. After almost 14 years of coming back to this corner of the continent, most of these places are -in a way- familiar to us and keep a record of adventures and encounters that we've had in the past, but there is always more to explore and discover. The following images are a re-collection of yet another New England summer.

Abril aguas mil...

Pocos meses en el año Palugo saca a la luz todo su verdor como en Abril. Entre flores, honguitos de monte y verde, mucho verde estamos todos embarcados en proyectos con sabor a vegetales y a tomates frescos. A quesos y yogur. A hierbas medicinales. A construcciones. A bebes a punto de nacer o nacidos. A compost fresco, a vida.

Only few times a year we get the chance to see Palugo covered with such a varied display of green tones. Among flowers and little bush mushrooms, we are all immersed in different projects with a wide variety of flavors. It smells like vegetables and tomatoes. Like cheese and yogurt. Like medicinal herbs and fresh adobe on the new buildings. Smells like babies, some foraging freely, some not born yet. Smells like fresh compost. Like life.

Momentos / Snippets

Es hermoso cuando una fotografia realza la belleza de un momento común, de una acción rapida o de una tarea cotidiana. Cuando nos trae un recuerdo o inmoviliza una escena que de no ser así probablemente pasa desapercibida. Cuando puede grabar colores, movimientos e instantes que nuestro cerebro sobre estimulado no puede recordar.

Its beautiful when photography highlights the beauty that hides in simple things, in the  daily routine, in movement. When it brings good memories or captures a scene that otherwise will go unnoticed. When it captures colors, actions or quick snippets that our overstimulated brain cannot record.
